Human Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) is a multifunctional growth factor encoded by the EGF gene. It is a non-glycosylated polypeptide, commonly expressed in E. coli, with a predicted molecular mass of approximately 6 kDa. EGF binds to its specific receptor (EGFR) on cell membranes, activating signaling pathways that regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, migration and anti-apoptosis. It is widely involved in embryonic development, tissue repair and wound healing. Abnormal EGF expression is closely related to tumor growth and tissue damage. The recombinant EGF maintains high biological activity, which is essential for cell growth and tissue homeostasis, and is widely used in biological research and related therapeutic studies.
